What we store, and what we never do with it

Invites is a digital wedding-invitation service run by a small business based in Louisiana, United States. This page explains, in plain language, what we store when you build an invitation, what we do with it, and how to have it deleted. It applies to visitors of this website, to couples who create invitations, and to the guests they invite.

1. What we store

We keep only what the service needs in order to work. In practice that is:

Couple content — the names of the couple and their families, cities, wedding date, time and time zone, ceremony names, times and venues, map links, your story, photos, videos, your music choice, gift note and gift QR image, and any details you type into the form.
Guest data uploaded by the couple — guest names, phone numbers and email addresses, party labels, seat counts, language and tier (family or friend), whether an invitation was marked as sent, RSVP answers (yes or no, headcount, message) and table assignments.
Account data — your email address, one-time sign-in links, a session cookie, and the time you last signed in. We never ask for a password.
Payment records — the order, amount, currency and time of payment, plus the Stripe checkout reference. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers.
Technical data — a daily count of how many times each invitation was opened (a number, not who opened it), short-lived IP-address counters that stop abuse, and the standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.
Contact messages — the name, email address and message you send through our contact form.

2. Guest data: the couple is in charge

The couple who creates an invitation decides which guests to add and what to write. In privacy terms, the couple is the data controller for their guest list and we are the processor: we store and display that information only on the couple's behalf, only to show the invitation, collect RSVPs and run their dashboard. We do not contact guests ourselves, and we do not use guest details for anything else.

Couples: only add people you have a real relationship with and permission to invite, and remove anyone who asks you to. Guests: if you would like your details removed, ask the couple, or email us at invites@invite-app.hostingersite.com and we will take care of it with them.

3. How we use it

To show the invitation to the people the couple shares it with, and to record their RSVPs.
To sign you in, send your receipt, and answer messages you send us.
To keep the service safe: rate limits, abuse prevention and fixing bugs.
That is all. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not send marketing email to guests.

4. We do not sell your data

We have never sold, rented or traded personal information, and we will not. We share data only with the providers we need in order to run the service, and only the part each one needs:

Stripe, which processes payments under its own privacy policy.
Our web-hosting, file-storage and email-delivery providers, which store and transmit data on our instructions.
Google, when a page loads Google Fonts, a guest taps a Google Maps link, or a visitor chooses to load an optional YouTube song. The YouTube feature is described below.
Messaging apps (Zalo, WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS) only when the couple chooses to send a link through them — we never send messages on your behalf.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

5. Cookies

The invitation service uses the first-party cookies listed here. If you choose to load a YouTube song, its player may use third-party cookies as described below:

Session (sid) — keeps you signed in for up to 90 days.
Language (lang) — remembers whether you chose English or Vietnamese, for one year.
Claim (claim_…) — lets you keep editing an invitation you created before you signed in.
Form protection (cs) — a random token that stops other websites from submitting forms as you; it expires after 7 days.

You can delete these in your browser at any time; you may be signed out as a result.

6. California disclosure (CalOPPA)

Our invitation features do not add cross-site advertising trackers. If you load the optional YouTube player, YouTube processes player data under its own privacy policy as described below.
The invitation features do not change in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals. YouTube applies its own privacy settings when you choose to load its player.
We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. California residents may still ask what we hold about them, and have it corrected or deleted, by emailing invites@invite-app.hostingersite.com.
This policy's effective date and any changes are posted on this page.

7. How long we keep things

Paid invitations and their guest lists stay until you delete them or ask us to (see the Terms for what happens if the service ever closes).
Trial invitations that are never paid for may be removed after the trial expires.
Sign-in links expire after 20 minutes and are deleted within a week. Rate-limit counters are dropped after their short window. Daily view counts older than about 400 days are removed.
Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

8. Deleting your data

Couples can edit or remove guests, photos and text from their dashboard at any time. To delete an entire invitation — including every guest and RSVP attached to it — or your whole account, email invites@invite-app.hostingersite.com from the address you signed up with. We confirm within a few days and complete the deletion within 30 days, except for payment records we must keep by law.

9. Invitation pages and search engines

Invitation pages are marked so that search engines do not index them, but anyone who has the link can open it. Couples control who receives links; each guest link contains a random code and is meant for one household.

10. Security

Every page is served over HTTPS. Sign-in uses one-time email links instead of passwords, dashboards are only reachable by the signed-in owner, and card payments never touch our servers. No system is perfect; if you believe something is wrong, tell us at invites@invite-app.hostingersite.com and we will act quickly.

11. Children

The service is for adults planning an event. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child's data has reached us, email us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy we change the date at the top. If a change matters to you — for example a new category of data — we email account holders before it takes effect.

13. Contact

Optional YouTube songs

Added 8 September 2026

Optional YouTube songs use YouTube API Services. Nothing from YouTube is loaded by this feature until you choose Load our song. Loading the player connects your browser directly to YouTube/Google, which receives your IP address, browser/device information, the selected video and our website origin. We do not send invitation links, guest names, RSVP details or gift information to the player.

YouTube may serve advertisements and store or read cookies or similar identifiers according to its own settings and policies. We do not collect your YouTube login credentials, request access to your account, or store your viewing history. The couple’s song choice is stored with the invitation; we do not add guest-level YouTube analytics. You can leave this feature unloaded and continue using the invitation.
